If you are looking for a way to get your children more interested in healthy eating, I highly encourage you to check out the Tower Garden. I finally got mine put up today, and now all I have to do is wait for it to grow! I have planted swiss chard, green beans, kale, a variety of lettuces, snap peas, summer squash, and zucchini to name a few… I’ve planted 20, but you can plant up to 28.
I can’t tell you how much fun it is to watch everything grow, and how cool it is to walk outside and harvest what you would like just before you eat it! Kids just love this, and it’s a great way to get them to eat more fruits and veggies. I mean, what kid could turn down the chance to eat something that they have planted, cared for, and grown themselves!!! It’s really a great family project, AND can save you money on your grocery bill!
For those of you that don’t know, the Tower Garden is a vertical aeroponic growing system. Because it is vertical, it makes it super easy to fit just about anywhere, and the best part is there is no dirt involved! You can grow just about anything… fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs. Keep checking back, I’ll have more pictures soon!
